A Florida man was charged with disorderly conduct and operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license after Tomah Police officers responded to a domestic dispute in downtown Tomah.
James Paul Page of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., was arrested by Tomah police after responding to a call at Callahan’s Bar late Wednesday evening. Police were called to Callahan’s on a report that someone had broken another person’s cell phone.
Police encountered an agitated Page who was demanding that a woman he identified as his wife, Kathleen Valentine of Ashley, Ind., leave the bar. Witnesses described Page as verbally abusive to Valentine, and Page was taken into custody when he continued to shout at Valentine as officers attempted to speak with her. Page was later discovered to have a suspended Florida driver’s license.
Valentine, described by officers as intoxicated and unsteady on her feet, was led outside, where she fell and hit her head on the sidewalk. She was taken to Tomah Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released the following day.
