Vern G. Frohmader

Vern G. Frohmader, 94, of Sparta and formerly of Tomah died Friday, November 13, 2009 at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center. He was born January 26, 1915 to Ben and Ella (Glander) Frohmader in the Town of Clifton, Wisconsin, the oldest of seven boys. He was united in marriage to Arlene Thorson on July 14, 1945 at Fountain Lutheran Church, Kendall. She preceded him in death March 21, 2006. Vern worked for many years as a carpenter and a brick layer. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping. He also enjoyed spending time planting his yearly vegetable garden. In his younger years Vern was an active member of the church. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Men’s Club and a member of the Clifton Sportsman Club.

He is survived by two daughters Judy (Larry) Fyten of Minnetonka, MN and Marcy (Don) Stickney of Woodbury, MN, grandchildren Kelly (Jason) Roelofs, and Adam Stickney of Phoenix, AZ, Leah Fyten of Flandreau, SD, Jennifer Fyten of New Town, ND, six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, a “sister” Delores Dotson of Altoona, WI, 4 sisters-in-law Ann Frohmader of Milwaukee, Gladys Loging of New Lisbon, Annette Thorson of Kendall and Maxine (Verlyn) Kuderer of Brookfield, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Arlene, he is further preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, Reuben, Lloyd, Kenneth, infant brothers, Orley, Howard and Harold, 8 brothers-in-law and 6 sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 16, 2009 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 525 Superior Avenue, Tomah. Pastor David T. Brandt will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Tomah.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials in Vern’s memory may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church.

The Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Pastor Jaeson Matthew Tobin

Pastor Jaeson Matthew Tobin, 33, of Tomah went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009. He was born Jan. 16, 1976 to Ronald and Patricia (Dalton) Tobin at the Oconomowoc Hospital. He attended the Crossroads Christian academy and graduated in 1994. He was united in marriage to Juliana Baker on August 9, 1997 at the Tomah Baptist Church. Jaeson came to know Christ as his Savior at the young age of 10. After graduating high school he attended the Maranatha College and the Tabernacle Bible College in Greenville, South Carolina. From there he attended the Bethany Divinity Bible College and Seminary for his masters degree. He traveled to many different states preaching God’s word. Jaeson’s passion was working with the youth. He served as the principal at the Tomah Baptist Academy, and as a youth minister since 1997. He enjoyed music and singing in the church choir. He was an avid sports fan especially of the Chicago teams. He also enjoyed fishing. Jaeson’s hands where never idle, when he wasn’t busy with his ministry work, he could be found fixing up old equipment and making gadgets. He was a devoted husband, and a loving father, son, brother, and uncle.

He is survived by his wife, Julie of Tomah, 3 children Kayla Rose, Alaena Grace, and Ryan Thomas, his parents Pastor Ronald and Patricia Tobin of Tomah, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Pastor Thomas Baker II and Marie of Camp Douglas, 2 sisters Heather (Colden) Hershey of Tomah, and Jennifer (Les) Hill of Dublin, Ireland, a brother-in-law Thomas Baker III of Dubuque, IA, 3 sisters-in-law Kristy (Tim) Snyder of South Bend, IN, Laura (Tim) Borchardt of Watertown, Rebekah Baker of Watertown, WI, his grandparents-in-law Thomas and Victoria Baker of Elmont, MI, and Donna and Jesse of Caskow, many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Joan and Charles Dalton and his paternal grandparents Thomas and Lois Tobin.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at the Tomah Baptist Church, 1701 Hollister Avenue, Tomah. Pastor Ronald Tobin and Pastor Thomas Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Tomah Baptist Church on Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

The Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, Tomah is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Jason Wolford

Jason Wolford, 41, of Tomah, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.

The Torkelson Funeral Home of Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements. Services will be announced.
