Hazel E. Knight
Hazel E. Knight, age 98, of Salina, KS, and formerly of Tomah, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009. She was born September 9, 1910, to George and Winona (Rochester) Butterfield in Warrens, WI.
She was united in marriage to William Johnson who preceded her in death in 1976. She was later united in marriage to Benjamin Knight who also preceded her in death. Hazel was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her family. She will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her children, Leroy (Sharon) Johnson of Oxford, WI, Raymond (Carol) Johnson of Myrtle Creek, OR, William (Louise) Johnson of Malone, WI, Esther (James) Stenulson of Milwaukee, Janet (Charles) Van Kirk of Cheyenne, WY, Barbara (Richard) Zellmer of Cataract and Lois (Ronald) Holub of Salina, KS; 28 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, William Johnson and Benjamin Knight; two sons, Duane Johnson and John Johnson; and two sisters, Florence Johnson and Ethel Olson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 7, at 11 a.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Burial will follow in the Warren Mills Cemetery, Warrens. Family and friends are invited for visitation today (Thursday), Aug. 6, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah.
