Elvira M. Keichinger
Elvira Maria Keichinger, 88, of Camp Douglas, died peacefully July 30, 2009, at her home with her whole family by her side. She was the daughter of Ralph and Hattie (Moore) Robinson and was born March 22, 1921, in Warrens, WI. Elvira was a 1940 graduate of Tomah High School. She was united in marriage to Frederick Keichinger on Aug. 28, 1940, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tomah. Elvira liked working word search puzzles, reading, playing cards, and snowmobiling. She did the bookkeeping for Keichinger Construction and raised all the kids plus others. Elvira worked at the Tomah VA for 15 years, then went to Target Bluff Supper Club for 15 years.
Elvira and her husband had seven children. Elvira is survived by her children, Fred Keichinger of Adams, Joe (Weedy) Keichinger of Camp Douglas, Sharon Keichinger of Camp Douglas, Sandra (John) Davis of Camp Douglas, Mike (Jane) Keichinger of Camp Douglas and Jerry (LaRaine) Keichinger of Tomah; by two brothers, Roy Robinson of Tomah and Albert Robinson of Warrens, and two sisters, Della Cobb and Elenora Nesteby, both of Clinton, IL; a daughter-in-law, Linda Keichinger of Sioux Falls, SD; 20 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred, in 1976; her son, Antone “Tony” Keichinger, in 1991, and brothers Ralph, Jack and Charlie Robinson. She was well loved, and will be missed so much by all.
A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Camp Douglas, with Fr. John Ofori-Domah presiding.
Relatives and friends may call at the Hare Funeral Home in New Lisbon today (Monday) from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary service at 7 p.m. Friends may also call at St. James Catholic Church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A private family interment will be held at a later date in St. James Catholic Cemetery.

Mary B. Nienas
Mary B. Nienas, of Tomah, WI, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2009, at the Morrow Memorial Home in Sparta. She was born on Aug. 9, 1927, to William and Kathryn (Costello) Brennan in Tomah.
Mary attended St. Catherine’s College in St. Paul, MN, and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics and Business. She worked at Tomah Memorial Hospital in the Insurance Department for many years until her retirement in 1992. In her spare time, she loved traveling and gardening.
She is survived by her children, Ann (Edward Kawczynski) Nienas of Whitefish Bay, Mark (Julianne) Nienas of Mesa, AZ, and Jerome Nienas and Christine Stogsdill of Cashton; grandchildren, Kathryn and Charles Kawczynski and Lauren and Evan Nienas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; two brothers, John and William Brennan; and daughter-in-law, Sally Nienas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Very Rev. Steven J. Kachel will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Tomah. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. with a 4 p.m. rosary led by the Parish Council of Catholic Women (PCCW) at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Family and friends are also invited for visitation on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements.

Tammy Ann Meltesen
Tammy Ann Meltesen, 40, of Kendall, went to be with her heavenly Father on Friday, July 31, 2009 at Tomah Memorial Hospital after suffering from an unknown illness. She was born June 21, 1969 to Peter and Mary (Olson) Bennett in Tomah. She united in marriage to Gary Meltesen on Dec. 16, 2000 in Sparta. She was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ridgeville and confirmed at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Kirby.
She loved hunting, fishing and gardening. She also enjoyed spending time corresponding with her “internet friends”. Tammy had a love for children. Along with raising her own children she was a 2nd mom to many nieces and nephews.
She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend and will be sadly missed by those that loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Gary, 4 children, Scott, Nicole, Sarah and Alyssa all of Kendall, her parents, Peter Sr. and Mary Bennett of Mather, her mother-in-law Gloria Meltesen of Kendall, 2 brothers, Peter Jr. (Jennifer) Bennett of Elroy and Randy (Amy) Bennett of Mather, 2 sisters-in-law, Sandra (Fred) Olson of Kendall and Vicki (Larry) Meltesen of Kendall, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parental grandparents, John and Frances Bennett, her maternal grandparents, Melvin and Dorothy Olson, an infant son Danny, a father-in-law, Dale Meltesen, 2 uncles, Marvin Olson and Russell Bennett, 2 aunts, Sally and Arlene Olson and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, 11 a.m., at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St. Tomah. Pastor Kay Wold will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Memorial Garden.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
