The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol are investigating a two vehicle accident which occurred on Monday around 2:45 a.m. in the township of Tomah.

At 2:48 a.m. the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a two vehicle accident on STH 131 at Herring Road.

A flatbed truck driven by Ljubisa Vulovic, 52, of rural Cashton was southbound on STH 131 when a northbound vehicle driven by Robert Beck, 24, of Harrisburg, PA, crossed the centerline striking the Vulovic vehicle.

Beck was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. He was transported to Tomah Memorial Hospital, then later transferred to a La Crosse hospital. Vulovic was not injured.

The accident caused a portion of STH 131 to be closed for over three hours.

The Sheriff’s Department and State Patrol were assisted by the Tomah Ambulance Service and Rescue Techs, Oakdale First Responders, Oakdale Fire Department and The Monroe County Highway Department.

The accident remains under investigation.
