Camp Douglas racer Cardell Potter finished second in the Limited Late Model “B” feature Saturday at the Dells Raceway Park in Wisconsin Dells.

Potter finished behind only Michael Clapper of Dane in the 13-car race.

Potter also finished third in the first heat and was 14th in the regular feature race. Jim Sauter of Tomah finished ninth in that race.

The night’s work kept Potter in the upper echelon of the Limited Late Model points standings. He’s seventh out of 47 drivers with 925 points. Sauter is 19th with 580 points.

Another area driver clung to his lead in the Super Late Model Division. Corey Jankowski finished ninth in the feature, but still emerged with a slender four-point lead over second-place Travis Hancock of Mauston, who finished second in the feature. Hancock was the fastest qualifier for the third week in a row, but rookie Mike Lichtfield of Pardeeville stormed back from his seventh-place starting position to take the lead in the sixth lap and take the checkered flag.

Racing at the Dells Raceway Park resumes Saturday. Qualifying starts at 5:30 p.m., and green flag racing commences at 7 p.m.
