There’s nothing like a no-hitter to snap a five-game losing streak.

Tyler Felber held New Lisbon without a hit Monday and led the Tomah American Legion Seniors team to a 10-0 victory at Dennis Senz Field.

Tomah won its second in a row Tuesday with a 7-4 triumph over Bangor. It was the final home game of the year for the Seniors, who play their final five games on the road.

The two wins improved Tomah’s record to 3-5.

Felber dominated the New Lisbon batting order by ringing up 10 strikeouts and issuing just one walk.

The hitting support came from J.J. Johnson (2-for-3, 3 RBIs), Matt McGinnis (2-for-2) and Joey Organ (2 RBIs).

Tomah collected nine hits and two walks off a pair of New Lisbon pitchers.

Tomah’s victory over Bangor was cut short after four innings when Bangor’s catcher suffered an injury during a wild pitch. After his injury, Bangor could no longer field nine players.

Bangor took a 4-3 lead in the top of the fourth inning after Tomah pitcher Mytchel Schmidt walked three straight batters, all of whom scored. Schmidt escaped further trouble when Johnson, the catcher, gunned down a runner trying to steal second for the third out.

Ryan Felber started the winning rally in the bottom of the fourth with a single. He scored on a single from Organ, and Tim Liddane scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch. Schmidt then delivered a two-run single for the final margin.

Schmidt, who hit a solo home run in the second inning, pitched shutout ball for the first three innings, when he allowed just two baserunners. Tomah got its other two runs in the third inning, when Kevin Barth and Wyatt Blado hit RBI singles.

Tomah was blown out in a Sunday doubleheader against LaFarge, 11-5 and 15-2. Barth had a big game in the opener. He was 3-for-4 with a home run and a double. Tyler Von Haden had a triple and two RBIs.

In the second game, Organ was 2-for-3 and was the only Tomah player to collect a hit.

" All have to say about the game is Tyler pitched a excellent game and should be commended for his accomplishments. The article was about a game played recently not what was done months ago. If everyone that posts to these stories were half as smart as they think they are there wouldn't be any problems in the world. "

" Aaaaand where did anyone say anything about the drinking age and serving your country?
Wait until you are 21, your body and parts of your brain are just NOT ready for alcohol. It is scientifically proven. Obviously you drank before you were 21 because you are thinking irrationally and illogically, which are the two main parts of your brain not fully developed until about age 21. And what are you doing up at 2:30 am...!?!? "

" It doesn't really matter how you personally feel about the designated drinking age. It is 21, not 18. People who choose to work with OUR children in OUR schools should NOT be supplying their own underage children with alcohol, period! What kind of example are these irresponsible parents setting for the students in the schools in which they are employed? (namely TMS, the school that failed to make AYP!!) They preach that alcohol is a drug, yet they not only supply it for their own children, but then go on to brag about how they can do this with no accountability for their actions whatsoever. The Tomah School District can and should reprimand these individuals to the fullest extent allowed. This is totally unacceptable for a public school employee. If they gave alcohol to underage people outside of their families, it is also illegal. "

" YOU pose a great argument. If these individuals were allowed to drink at the age of 18, there would be no problem. Its from 15-18 that gets them in trouble, especially when the parents, supply and allow it. And knowingly let their children receive accolades in their sports, while others who have admitted or have been caught pay the price. They should be proud, especially those parents who also work for the school district and more importantly the administration. "

" Interesting that virtually every column printed allows an individual the opportunity to attack on a personal level and people can type slurs fast enough. In all reality several of the senior players are 18 and although it is illegal for them to drink, they can however lay down their lives during battle in the name of the United States. Who are you that you can find satisfaction using sarcasm and ridicule?
Let's just celebrate baseball, apple pie and our youth! "
