The detour for Hwy. 16 and West Clifton Street in Tomah due to a damaged sewer line was lifted Wednesday, officials said.

Work to repair the sewer pipeline that collapsed last Friday was completed late Wednesday afternoon and the route reopened to traffic, according to Tomah police.

The work originally had been expected to be finished by Wednesday, but officials announced earlier this week the road might not reopen until Friday.
