" I have also witnessed the custody system of Monroe County and agree with you. It's all about how much funding they can get for their department. If people can come to terms on their own on what is best for their children the county wouldn't get involved and would lose some funding. They don't want that to happen. I have heard of alot of personality conflicts with people working in that department. I hope your son can get some help to straighten out his life. Hopefully he will look you up then. "

" Has to be one of the least harmful drugs. It is naturally grown and you think it is dangerous because that is what the government wants you to believe. How many times have you heard of someone overdosing on "pot"?? How many accidents are caused by "pot"?? How many children have died from accidently eating "pot"?? Yet people are allowed to have morphine, oxycotone, as prescribed medications that if a child got a hold of these, they would be DEAD....even tylenol could kill them.
Crack, cocaine, heroine, LSD, the list could go on what drugs are really bad and illegal and much more harmful than "pot". That's just my opinion on all this "pot" stuff. Society needs to look at what is being told to them, war on drugs will never end as the big dealers, esp. in the big cities have "cops" that are actually involved in drug dealing themselves. People do weird things to get money. States that have lessened the violation of "pot" and allow people to "grow their own", have less crimes. Example Alaska. They have allowed it for years and you don't hear much ado about "pot". "

I don't always obey the law. Sometimes I speed. Sometimes I don't wear my seatbelt. Sometimes I violate other laws. What I don't do is whine about it if I get a ticket.
The rest of us have a right to go about our lives without having to deal with pothead/crackhead/whateverheads messing up our hamburgers or whatever menial jobs you all occupy.

Just go through a divorce or deal with a spouse who makes bad choices. Remember hindsight is 20/20. Or if your child gets hurt over negligence, you will find out who's siding with who. I didn't mean that it's Monroe County's responsibility to raise my kids. I just meant that the custody system the county circuit court uses isn't very good (at least it wasn't from 1995 to 2003). I would have loved to have (and fought many times to have) the responsibility (and privilege) to raise my own kids. I guess I cannot guarantee that Cody would not have ended up this way but I think it would have been much less likely if I had been allowed to raise him. As I said before--there was a convicted drug user living in the home that Monroe county awarded custody of Cody to. Now I'm not perfect, but there was no convicted drug user living in my home. Monroe county failed to use the facts in my children's custody case and now Monroe county is paying the price (and so are the grown children). "

How convenient when the article was about the family seeking answers and the County needed some CYOA tactics and they are patting themselves on the back for this week. Monroe County has failed many families, you are not alone on that. And it continues to the next generation and the next, all because of a last name.....all those who are considered politically correct can get away with anything!! Glad I left that county. "

" Cody Henze is my son and I cannot tell you how sad this news story makes me. I fought for primary placement of both him and his sister for years and failed every time. The custody study system in Monroe County needs to wake up and actually do what is best for the children using facts and not personalities(I did not get along with the person doing the study). The home Cody was placed in had family members heavily involved with drug activity (bad enough to lead to a death) during the time of the study and now Cody is apparently traveling the same path. It's no wonder since he was kicked out of that home just two weeks before his 18th birthday. I wish there was something I could do for him but, as of yet, he doesn't want help from me because it comes with strings & rules. I'm sorry if this offends anyone but I really believe Monroe County failed my children. "
