Carbon monoxide suspected in Ontario men's collapse

ONTARIO - Two Ontario men are being treated at a Minneapolis hospital for exposure to carbon monoxide, according to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Department.

Donald E. Malphy, 80, and Gareld L. Hanson, 76, were found at 5:32 p.m. Wednesday unconscious in one resident’s garage, according to the sheriff’s department.

The men were taken to area hospitals, then later transferred to Hennepen County Medical Center in Minneapolis, officials said.

Hospital staff refused to release any information on the men. The incident remains under investigation, according to the sheriff’s department.
