Authorities searching a suspected drug house in Tomah ended up with two arrests when another man showed up with a marijuana delivery, police said Thursday.

Tomah police were in the midst of a warranted search Tuesday afternoon at 109 W. Jackson St. when Nicholas Yates, 28, “arrived at the residence to deliver marijuana,” according to reports.

Yates, of La Crescent, Minn., was arrested on charges of delivery of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police.

Michael Horihan, 36, who lived at the house, was charged with four counts of delivery of marijuana, delivery of hydrocodone, possession of prescription drug without a prescription, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a drug trafficking dwelling.

Officers seized nearly 1 pound of marijuana at the home, along with prescription drugs that included Vicodin, according to police reports.

The two men were released from the Monroe County Jail after posting cash bonds Thursday, police said.

The case has been forwarded to the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office. The investigation continues and other arrests could be made, police said.

Just little mistakes people make so that they can get out of their trouble and get someone else in trouble and thats how its done..the problem is you can want all of these drugs gone, but they will always be around. " Commandment 9: " Thou shalt not bear false witness against your neighbor." First ammendment: Freedom of speach. Just because SOME people disagree with the war on drugs theory doesn't mean we are ignorant. There are 2 sides to a coin. There are also 2 paths in life. Many people have smoked cannabis, including some of our presidents, do they smell like goat's too??? If the US would legalize small amounts and let people grow their own, ever think they wouldn't need it from Mexico??? Just some thoughts for you to ponder since you are obviously under the delusion that pot is so horrible, etc. Prescription drugs such as Vicodan, Morphine or any of the opiates are legal and in freer access than anything else. Children only need to go to their parents or grandparents medicine cabinet to get ahold of these things. I guess I just find the closed mind theory on anything so far fetched. It's like a double standard. Obviously this bust was a good one but the whole other side has gone "over board"....even some of the religious stuff. I guess I believe that if people want to smoke a joint in their home, like the group of young men, as long as they didn't have a large quantity, why the big deal?? I don't care what the neighbors do as long as it is in moderation and not harming me in any manner. Also, more and more crimes will occur just because of the economy. Obviously you view people working in the minimum wage jobs subservant to you. Hey, that's what's wrong with this country, rather than "work together" we work AGAINST each other. Gas prices rise, groceries, etc. The "rich" the "poor" and no more middle class. I guess maybe you are just too young to remember some of the "freer" times, free to spank our kids (although beatings should not have been tolerated), respecting elder's, following directions in school. Some of us are lucky we survived!!! And we never knew so many of our rights were violated until the 70's and things have gotten worse....I imagine you also agree with the Global warming theory or maybe that STD's are causing the Global warming. Or perhaps you are one of those that think we need to "save the polar bears". eliminate beef farms because of the methane gas. "

While there are exceptions to every rule, the vast majority of dopers I've run into fall under the categories of being lazy and/or stupid. Not to mention they smell funny, kind of like goats but with a hint of herbal stench. "

" With all the pot smokers I've known, I've heard some pretty stupid things. But that's got to be the dumbest thing a pothead has ever said. At least the rest of them acknowledge that it is a drug.

I guess every doctor and scientist who doesn't work for High Times is wrong when they say that it's a hallucinogen? Or that it actually falls into all the drug classifications to a degree because of it's chemical makeup?

See, this is the problem with pot. It turns people into bigger idiots than they already were. "

I just don't believe we have a right to impose our beliefs on everyone else UNTIL the point at which they become a danger to others. If the stoners want to buy some weed and get stoned in their basement, let them. None of our business. "

" Are you people kidding me, i have no problem with getting drugs off the street.... when they are ACTUALLY drugs.Anybody thats not totally blind or stupid can do minimal research and see that marijuana isn't even an actual drug. The only reason pot is not legal is because the gov. cannot tax it. They could try but it is too easy to grow and in the long run they would lose more money. So the gov. and cops think "hey why legalize it and lose money, while people are still dumb enough to think its actually harmful".Prisons are filled with millions of minor marijuana convictions, i think its time we stop worrying about people the smoke a little weed and start on the real criminals( rapists, murders, and offenders of some real drugs.... coke, meth, herion.... come on people open your damn eyes. "

" Yeah, because drug dealers are always strong self regulators. That's why we end up with people getting shot in the backwoods of Juneau County. Great plan.

You potheads/other drug users always amuse me. Mommy & Daddy didn't love you enough, some test in 8th grade didn't go well, life hasn't worked out the way you wanted, so you have to lean on some drug induced happiness because your life didn't turn out the way you wanted.

Drugs are a crutch for the lazy. They give you a false happiness about a life that hasn't amounted to what you want, and lowers your expectations of yourself. I mean, come on...you can't accomplish as much because you're hooked on alcohol, pot, meth, crack, god knows what else. And yes, I am including people who abuse prescription drugs, and go out to get drunk every weekend with your group of illicit drug abusers.

Plus, then you get to whine that you're being "persecuted" by the majority of people who don't think everyone who wants to should be walking around high on their drug of choice.

What a joke. "

Why does TPD waste their time wrote on Jun 6, 2008 8:15 AM:

" This is just a waste of time! In Monroe County you can get away with consuming, selling and not paying the fines you received from the last time you were charged. It blows my mind that TPD would even bother with this when the Judicial system over there simply lets everyone walk. No wonder there are drugs EVERYWHERE you turn in that county. They are fined and they really don't have to pay their fines, just fake some community service and don't keep a regular job...no big deal, haven't paid on your fines from 2006 in 8 months? No big deal...they will just add the new fines to the old ones and you can have someone (your friends with) write a letter stating that you have worked off the fines by doing a HUGE community service. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!!!!! "

" Move to a state where they DO allow it, this is America and some states allow to grow for personal use, you do not need to leave the USA. Alaska has allowed it for years to grow your own. Don't forget the Netherlands and Amsterdam as you can go to a smoke shop and buy it. And cannabis does not promote violence such as alcohol, but that is legal. Have a stem or seed and they will throw the book at you, or at least try in WI. They should lessen the fine for minute amounts. Quit filling the jails and court rooms over small amounts, then maybe you'd be able to solve the real problems, bars, drunks and murders and the big dealers. "

Argentina-Possession is OK, but you can't grow it or sell it

Parts of Australia-You can be fined, but it's not a crime

Belgium-You're OK up to 3 grams

Colombia-You can possess it up to 20 grams, but not sell it

Estonia-You can grow it, but not smoke it

Nepal-Technically Illegal, but they don't seem to care.

Spain-Technically Illegal, they don't seem to care if you possess it, but you can't sell it.

Russia-You can be fined, but not a crime or less than 6 grams

" Okay the cops are searching a house for drugs, I am making a delivery of drugs to the house...I drive up the street and see cop cars, I simply turn around and go home, but it seems this guys decided to deliver the drugs in spite of the cops being there, what an idiot. My opinion would be that if you are that dumb you need the help of the authorities and it is a blessing that they have a bed for you to sleep in!

As far as when they come and get you Heil, it will just have to depend on what you did to get caught...if it is against the law don't do it and you should be okay but everything that you described is illegal and there is a price to pay when you break the law...well at least there should be a price. "

" They should outlaw alcohol too. Alcohol is a drug that is abused everyday and people just sit back and say it's okay because it is legal. It causes nothing but trouble, murder's, thugs, domestic violence. Alcohol is the drug of choice for most people as it is legal. Prescription meds, well, kids only need to go to a medicine cabinet for them. Obviously someone who is "prescribed" the oxycodone was given the drug by an MD for pain, so how does it end up in the hands of kids??? "

" Great discussion all. BUT think about all the great things these fellows do for out town...all the trash around, the destruction, the lazing around all day, smashing bottles , cars on lawns....how could we not love these guys???? Well enough of that.

Bottom line is we need to speak up and make life just a little tougher for this kind of rabble. People says" they were ther for years". This is kind a of a "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on ME" situation.

In this situation we around this place have perhaps been fooled once but the rest of the years are our fault. Think about it. HOw long did we foolishly think..."aw , gee maybe they just work third shift...it's a free country..i shouldn't say anything" This kind of giving an inch lets entire neighborhoods be over run by these guys. Next thing you know you are running into the house whan you see them coming down the side walk thugging around just so you can say you "didn't see them". "

" The arguement would be the majority should not be allowed to oppress the minority, simply because they have the numbers on their side. Say 3 people are stranded on a desert island. The 2 men vote to rape the woman. This would be your idea of democracy. My idea is that those who don't wish to use drugs won't, but those that choose to do so(even if in the minority) should feel free to do so without persecution. "

RE To Nine zero eight am wrote on Jun 3, 2008 2:37 PM:

" So your claim is that the criminalization of illicit drug use/possession is the same as the persecution of Jews. That's interesting.

So, tell me, exactly what do you think the positive aspects would be for the legalization of drugs? Other than that opportunity for drug dealers to make money, and for drug users to spend their lives in a chemically induced stupor? To which one of these groups do you belong? What sort of otherwise harmless groups do you think are going to end up being "persecuted" after these government atrocities "balloon"?

I also find your logic faulty in that there are obviously plenty of people who aren't willing to give up their "individual choice and freedom" to do whatever drugs they see fit. There is plenty of access to marijuana, crack, meth, whatever else you want, as well as plenty of "activist groups" to fight the government. We're just fortunate that the majority of people have the good sense not to pay too much attention to their arguments.

This isn't a decision made by a tiny minority to take away your "rights." It appears to me that the people have spoken, and an overwhelming majority disagree with you. But please, keep fighting for your/my rights to drug use, the rest of us will continue fighting against them. "

First thing to do is just watch the DOPE going in and out of DIMENSIONS on the weekend,People don't drive for hours to go to that bar for anything else.

BIG Problem is the Government has put us in this place of only having just enough bust to make the masses believe it's a WAR ON DRUGS, when in fact it's a tiny fight that happens occasionally.....WITHOUT a drug problem we wouldn't need a new police station and new cop cars and more cops.....This is how pathetic our Government has become and how corrupt our whole system has progressed.

To bad there is no honesty in the media to actually report how we need DRUGS in our society to provide lots of JOBS. If we eliminated all drugs the State would have to delete thousands of jobs and this would cost the Democrats Thousands of VOTES

IT's a vicious circle that just feeds upon itself at the taxpayers expense. Those that get sucked into actually believing all this PROPAGANDA about the WAR ON DRUGS are exactly the people needed to keep funding this mess. "

Revels said that the folks on Heeler have a Neighbrohood Watch now. That's good! Maybe we need more people with these kind of guts to call these cars and people into the P.D. ???

Folks, with as few officers on shifts as we have, can you imagine what is going on that IS NOT EVER noticed. When they can turn this stuff up as a small force, you know there are pounds going through successfully.
