Published - Sunday, May 04, 2008 Madison woman sentenced in conspiracy to deliver cocaine in Monroe County Shequalah Hatchett, 21, of Madison, was sentenced by Monroe County Circuit Court Judge Michael McAlpine to three years in prison and seven years extended supervision on Wednesday for her role in a conspiracy to deliver crack cocaine. Her sentence also includes one count of felony maintaining a drug trafficking place for activity that took place from March 2005 through June 2006. Hatchett had previously been appointed by Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle as a Youth Representative to the Governor’s Juvenile Justice Commission in 2004. Monroe County District Attorney Dan Cary said that Hatchett is the 27th person convicted in Monroe County as a result of a lengthy, multi-jurisdictional drug investigation that culminated in 35 arrests on June 29, 2006. “This sentence reflects the seriousness of this defendant’s conduct in making illegal drugs available to others in our community,” Cary said. “The extraordinary efforts of all law enforcement agencies involved in this investigation resulted in Hatchett being successfully prosecuted for her criminal conduct.”
