The Tomah High School junior varsity softball team lost a pair of Mississippi Valley Conference matchups but added a non-conference game to the victory column.

Kala Lindley struck out 14 batters to lead Tomah to a 6-2 victory over Marshfield April 5. Lindley was also 2-for-4 at the plate. Clarissa Hoeth was 1-for-2, while Mandy Hartshorn, Alicia Nofsinger, Maggi Reardon and Brittney Swanson were all 1-for-3.

Two days earlier, Tomah lost a 10-3 MVC decision to La Crosse Central. Lindley was 2-for-3 with a double. Nofsinger and Elizabeth Tessman were 1-for-3.

Tuesday at La Crosse Logan, Tomah couldn’t overcome nine errors in a 15-11 loss. Lindley nearly hit for the cycle. She went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple. Swanson smashed a home run, while Kayla Hojnacki was 2-for-4 with a double.

Tomah returns to action Thursday at Holmen. The next home game is April 22 vs. Onalaska.
