Published - Sunday, March 23, 2008 Fort McCoy honored for tree efforts Fort McCoy has been designated a Tree City USA for the 19th consecutive year. The honor is sponsored by the National Arbor Day Foundation, which recognizes organizations that are committed to community forestry. Fort McCoy has met the four standards required to become a Tree City USA Community. The standards are: a tree board or department, a tree-care ordinance, a comprehensive community forestry program and an Arbor Day observance.
