Published - Tuesday, March 18, 2008 Near-drowning at Holiday Inn under investigation The Tomah Police Department was called to the Holiday Inn on Sunday where a child had nearly drowned and was not responding. Officers arrived on the scene and were assisted by the Tomah Area Ambulance Service in administering medical treatment to the child. During the investigation, officers learned that an adult caretaker of the child had left the child unattended in the pool area. The child was located unconscious in the pool. The child was removed from the pool and CPR was administered, according to the Tomah Police Department. The child regained consciousness and was transported to Tomah Memorial Hospital. The case is under investigation and no arrests have been made at this time. After the investigation is complete, the case will be forwarded to the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office for review of possible charges.
