November 7 will mark a day of decision. We will vote. How we vote will not make us any more or any less American. However, the vote on the marriage amendment will decide whether we protect a long standing American standard, or leave that standard vulnerable to left-wing activist judges.

Do not base your vote on deceptive ads and TV commercials brought by those seeking to make what is normal and natural, to be perceived as normal and natural. Do not be intimidated in your vote by the pressure tactics being used to push the Gay Rights agenda. Do not accept the intimidation of left-wing professors, teachers and politicians (some local) when they say a yes vote on the marriage amendment will make you homophobic, bigoted, mean-spirited and un-American.

I will vote yes on the marriage amendment because I believe it is right. I also believe God’s word is right, and it says that the gay/lesbian lifestyle is vile and not natural (Romans 1). I will stand on God’s word with my vote. Where will you stand?

" My radical views? What is so radical about the knowledge that homosexual behavior is a sin? If my knowledge of that FACT is radical, then I guess about 65% if the US population is radical. Besides, I am not advocating for the death or murder of anybody. I am well aware that it is God's place to judge people. But the Word tells us that we have an obligation to judge the behavior and actions of people. The Bible tells us that every good tree bears good fruit, and it is of God, but every bad tree bears bad fruit, and cannot be from God! "

" Wow, those who are ignorant should review the roots of the world's religions a little more closely. I am no expert on Islam, but I do believe that the god of Islam was a sun god, which was chosen because he was the most powerful of the god's when Muhammud began tranforming a polytheistic view of spirituality into a monotheistic view. Furthermore, the assention of Jesus into Heaven, after his death on the cross, was witnessed by hundreds of people. Those that witnessed it were able to see that Jesus is God, and most of them were tortured to death for refusing to deny what they had witnessed. Muslims do not worship the same god as Christians. Therefore, since there is only one God, Muslims are simply worshipping a false, pagan God! That my friend, is why it is completely blasphemous to compare my knowledge of God to the false beliefs of Muslims. Please, for the sake of your soul, if you truly seek God, and pray in Jesus' name, and read the Bible, it will be revealed to you! It is written in the Bible, and it is so. "

" In Al Queda people chant "Praise Allah, Praise Allah, Praise Allah". Whose right? Are we not all God's people? What makes your praises any different than theirs. Your praying to the same God. What make you so sure he agrees with your radical views more than theirs? "

" Yes I am an American. I am proud to be an American. Not even a cliche however trite and taken from overworked TV shows will change that. My children do and will continue to disagree with me on some things, However on this issue I am excited to note they agree because they also accept and believe the truth of God's Word. I will also say that to try and put this on the same ground as racial issues is demeaning to people of color and is disputed by many people of color who believe the same as I do. (Romans1) still stands and is clear. Just accept it or reject it. Don't try and explain it away. "

People of Faith will vote NO wrote on Nov 4, 2006 7:02 PM:

" The loving and accepting Christians I know are voting NO to the proposed ban/ change to the constitution. And the world as we know it will not come to an end. Actually, nothing will change. The citizens of Wisconsin will be considered more educated and enlightened than the rest of the nation expects of us. The followers and the fearful, of course, will vote YES as the Ted Haggards, Pat Robertsons and Rush Limbaughs have preached to them. I wonder who should really be banned from uniting and procreating? "

To Christian crusaders: wrote on Nov 4, 2006 1:00 AM:

" When will you devout Christians finally understand that although following the "word of God" as you interpret it may be an honorable way to lead you life, it does not give you license to dictate they way everybody else leads theirs. This seems like a basic concept that has existed for hundreds of years. Yet people like you just don't seem to get it. If you truly believe that eternal life with your god (lowercase g intended) is dependent upon following "his" word, then do so. But understand that your salvation is not dependent upon the rest of the world falling in line with you. Focus on your own life and spirituality and being the best person you can be within your own belief system. But stop crusading against those who have a different take on life, the existence of a higher power, and our place in the universe. My life will have no impact on how eternity plays out for you. "

LS wrote on Nov 2, 2006 12:37 PM:

" My friends, we, as you know, are not living in the old testament era! Jesus Christ gave us the decision to be children of God!! keep in mind he did die on the cross taking away the sins of the world if only we believe in him. Becomin children of God through faith in Jesus Christ and not of ourselves. So saying that, yes i do believe that homosexuals are distraught in their thinking that they are equal...as people they are...as sinners they are a DISGRACE in the sight of Jesus Christ. "For broad is the way that leads to destruction and many are those who follow it..." People, even some christians are not going to see the kingdom of God!! Dont get mad at me, im just relaying the message from the Lord. Did you not read that part? We are all sinners...or were sinners; christians! christ died for us all gays, blacks, whites, men women children...but u know the difference...Because christ is inside of us...if we so make that life changing decision, then that CONVICTION is what the Lord allows us to feel so we can change our lives through his son Jesus! Now we can choose to ignore God tugging at our hearts, or we can submit to it and see what the good Lord has planned for our lives. So saying this people, we're all different, but by grace and acceptance on your part we are all the same in Christ. Hell is going to have all different types of people...sinners and christians who think that religion and works are gonna save them, no friends...FAITH. So when you point the finger and try to step in Gods shoes, you know what? leave it alone...God says that the love of many will wax cold and we see it every day so dont be surprised when it gets worse. We have no say in changing whats supposed to happen, not saying this is supposed to happen, but we are not GOD...we cant choose what the fate of sinners is...God already says what it is. So if they still decide to go against it!! Let em'! we know what's gonna happen and 99% of them know too! Rebellion is NOT SMART PEOPLE. Know God and you can know peace and salvation and eternal salvation. I know that if there was 100% fact...nay, PROOF that some people need to see, that there is a God, and he showed you, that alot of you would still be rebellious because it's so easy to do evil but so hard to do good. We were born sinners but when we ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST THEN HE WILL WALK WITH US AND CHANGE OUR LIVES BUT WITHOUT HIM PEOPLE ITS HOPELESS. so i say this final thing, stop acting like God and let things happen. Dont condemn Gays, their eternity is decided and they know and choose to follow it...all sinners not just gays. we all know our eternal salvation or damnation. If Jesus is in our hearts then we're good, but I promise that he will shatter sinners down untill nothing is left...yet he still loves us. He STILL loves us! "

Steve, the only way to ensure God's will is carried out....is another constitutional amendment! wrote on Nov 2, 2006 7:45 AM:

" Should non-virgin brides be stoned in the father's doorway? IF the Bible says "yes"...and it does, than ABSOLUTELY. Please contact your Christian (aka, Republican) congressman today and let's get the ball rolling for another consititutional amendment to bring Wisconsin closer to Jesus! "

re: will all of the old testament be followed? wrote on Oct 31, 2006 8:37 PM:

" In answer to your question, the answer is 'no'. We christians take the whole Bible literally, except for the parts we don't like. We only like just that 1 verse in Leviticus. Please feel free to ignore the rest...BUT we still take the whole thing literally, sorta kinda. AMEN. "

Re: Following the Old Testament wrote on Oct 31, 2006 6:21 PM:

" If your marriage is nothing more than an amalgamation of 'sexual habits', no wonder you're confused on the subject. Have you and your sex-habit-partner considered counseling to help your marriage to move beyond putting your 'john thomas' somewhere? Why is it that the 'old fashioned' crowd is so sex-obsessed? "

Lazarus wrote on Oct 30, 2006 10:29 AM:

" If giving activist judges the chance to force acceptance of someone's sexual habits is "progressive", I'll take "old-fashioned" anyday! Just what is it about morality that scares you people so much? You don't have to answer that, as I already know. It causes people to take responsibility for their own actions and choices, and a lot of people just can't stand responsibility. "

Wakeup! wrote on Oct 29, 2006 10:56 PM:

" Oh yeah, God's law states that homosexuality is an abomination! I would be careful to recognize the boldness of that word. Also "God's greater call" that you are speaking of is not one of the Ten Commandments. As a matter of fact, Matthew 22:40 tells us to hang all the laws on these two commandments, yet these are not part of the Ten Commandments. As you can see the Ten Commandments are not necessarily the greatest commandments. So to say if it is not in the Ten Commandments it is not important, is contradicting your own ascertations. "

Wakeup! wrote on Oct 29, 2006 10:45 PM:

" I have examined the plank in my eye, and I have recognized my sins and I am doing my best to overcome them through Jesus Christ. The difference is the need to repent. Those who are unapolegetically gay, fail to repent. That is the difference. In addition, because I occasionally fall short of adherence to God's will does not mean that I should avoid telling others about the truth of God's word. Lastly, I am not judging others, you are right that is for God. However, I am judging their actions in light of God's word. Their is a difference and to ignore that difference is a dangerous distinction to make. Yes, God did give us free will, but that doesn't change the fact that those who chose the homosexual lifestyle are living against God's will. The gay lifestyle is no worse or better than any other sin, but those who perpetuate other sins are not trying to force society to accept that their sin is o.k. Those who are caught up in the gay lifestyle are dealing with the same demons that cause alcoholism, drug addiction, and adultery. That is sin that comes from a worship of the self and immediate gratification. When individuals get caught up in the ways of the world, Satan will blind them from the truth, and he will gradually bring them into a place where they are too diluted to recognize their own filth. The law of the old testament is in place so that people are able to recognize their sinful ways. Jesus did not come to destroy the law, but to fulfill it. Therefore, to say that it is o.k. to be gay because Jesus tells us to love one another is blasphemous. I am more than capable of loving the person and hating the sin. Furthermore, Jesus' other greatest command is to love the Lord, thy God with all thy heart, mind, soul and strength. How can you live contrary to His will, and still claim to love Him? Don't be fooled, those that are in support of this amendment do not hate, and we do not judge homosexuals. We simply refuse to accept sinful behavior, which some try to mask as being progressive and tolerant. "

God's Greater Call: Love wrote on Oct 29, 2006 11:43 AM:

" We have the Ten Commandments, and homosexuality did not make that list because it was not important enough. Christ came down in person and gave us two Great Commandments; love God and no other god before Him, and Love thy neighbor as thy brother. This seems clear and any deviation from this is to turn away from what God wants. The problems our society has with gay marriage is complex, but the solution to it is going to come through the love of Jesus Christ. God gave us freedom to choose for ourselves our own path, and our great country is founded on that principle. Matthew 7 Judging Others 1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. 3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. "

Wakeup! wrote on Oct 28, 2006 5:52 PM:

" I am sick and tired of being told that we Christians are bigotted and hateful. That is just an attempt for non-believers to deny the truth, and I will no longer sit idly by while people try to silence me. It is enough, and I will do whatever I can to spread the Gospel, in spite of the discomfort that some have with the truth that we are all sinners and filthy and unjustified without faith in Jesus Christ. "

VOTE "NO" ON THIS AMENDMENT....IT'S THE CHRISTIAN THING TO DO! wrote on Oct 27, 2006 10:55 PM:

" In the proposed state marriage/civil union amendment, we are once again witnessing the anti-Christian actions of members of the "Christian" right as they flex and ogle over their political muscles. They are seeking to institutionalize their religious hatreds against a specific community of taxpaying citizens based upon their own contrived religious opinions of what love between consenting adults must be in order to be "true" Christians AND full-fledged citizens of this country and State. I'm given an image of Christ weeping before God in the face of such institutionalized religious hatred. The religious politics of exclusivity and pure hatred try to deny the rights of citizens to be free from the religious special interests and their agenda to force their narrow religious opinions upon the entire community. Exclusivity is a social disease propelled by the most constitutionally averse of our society. It manifests itself in discrimination and vice by one group of citizens over another. The religious right, in its greed and lust for power, is now trying to force its will upon the families and communities of a once-progressive Wisconsin. Is this really what we Wisconsinites want??? We should fear the peeping Toms of the bedroom police, because if they're peeking into your neighbor's bedroom window tonight, they will be peering into yours tomorrow. What consenting adults (gay or straight) do in the privacy of their own bedrooms is not the business of the religious right and its thought police, who seek to deceive entire communities into focusing their beams of hatred against a targeted group of citizens. Our Founding Fathers understood this. Thank God for them and our Constitution, which should serve to protect us all from the religious special interests that use God, Christ and the Bible to spread their own obsessive hatreds throughout our communities and into our systems of justice. VOTE NO ON THIS ANTI-CHRISTIAN AMENDMENT. A "NO" VOTE IS A VOTE FOR JUSTICE AND PUTS WISCONSIN BACK-ON-THE-MAP IS A PROGRESSIVE STATE! "

Keith, you're not the first American to vote another American "off the island" wrote on Oct 26, 2006 9:47 PM:

" Keith, it's a sad sight to behold, but Americans have turned on other Americans, frequently using the words "democracy" and "god" to justify their actions. Consider that every state that entered our Union as a slave state did so with a "democratic" vote and by invoking the bible (e.g.: Genesis 9:22-27). You probably would argue their voting did make them any less or more American. I would disagree with you. Consider "Jim Crow" laws based on one's race: "democratic" votes and bible-quotin' all through Dixie. Many throughout our Bible Belt wrote articles to their local papers denouncing "the intimidation of left-wing professors, teachers and politicians (some local)" and encouraged their fellow citizens to stand for traditional values. Of course, in the end, activist judges on the US Supreme Court did put an end to "Jim Crow" and bans on inter-racial marriage (Brown vs Board of Education and Loving vs Virginia, respectively). I'm sure you be-moan the loss of those values and the over-riding of the will of the people of Alabama or Mississippi by "liberals" in Washington. Keith, I don't. I think any law this disenfranchises any group of Americans, even if the majority votes for it, is wrong. DEAD WRONG. History will prove me right on this issue. Your children will look back on this letter with the same "what in the hell was he thinking" look as they would if they read a similar diatribe against the mixing of races. "
