Pull Association presents the 29th annual Budweiser Wisconsin Dairyland NTPA Super Nationals on June 25-27 at Tomah's Recreation Park.

Five sessions will feature every division of NTPA Championship Pulling, as competitors from the United States and Canada compete for over $150,000 in purse and awards.

Tickets for the NTPA Pulling Event are available for $18 per session for ages 8 and up or $80 for all five sessions.

For additional information, contact the Tomah Office at 608/372-2081 or visit their website at www.tomahtractorpull.com.

Also at the Monroe Co. Fairgrounds will be a large assortment of commercial booths, art and crafts, flea market, antique tractor display, and plenty of food stands to satisfy anyone's appetite. Admission to these areas and the pit area is free.

Tomah offers the biggest purse of any NTPA event and is the only event which features every class of pulling.

Friday at 7 p.m. the event kicks off with competition in the Four-Wheel Drive Truck, Pro Stock Tractor, Super Stock Open and Modified Tractor classes.

Saturday at noon fans will see the Two-Wheel Drive Trucks, Modified Mini Tractors, Modified Tractors and Super Stock Diesel Tractors.

Saturday night at 6 p.m., Pro Stock Tractors, Four-Wheel Drive Trucks, Unlimited Modified Tractors and Super Semis take the stage.

Super Farm Tractors, Modified Mini Tractors, Super Modified Four-Wheel Drive Trucks and Super Stock Open Tractors are set to compete on Sunday at noon.

The final session Sunday at 6 p.m. showcases the Two-Wheel Drive Trucks, Super Stock Diesel Tractors, Unlimited Modified Tractors and Super Semis.

The Two Wheel Drive class uses truck bodies as well as T-bucket and funny car bodies possessing single, supercharged racing engines. These vehicles are known for their high wheel standing passes.

The Four Wheel Drive Truck division showcases Chevy, Ford, and Dodge trucks utilizing monster fuel injected engines. Close competition is noted in this division, as many times all competitors are within just a few feet of each other when the dust settles. The Super Modified version of the "FWD" class scheduled for Sunday afternoon are the supercharged engine version of the division.

Super Stock Tractors are one of the farm "stock" appearing divisions in NTPA competition, but looks can be deceiving. These John Deere, Case IH, and Allis Chalmers brand tractors create tremendous horsepower and wheelspeeds. Diesel or alcohol fuel power these machines, which can utilize up to four turbochargers on a stock block.

Pro Stock tractors are limited to one turbocharger and compete with slightly smaller tires than the Super Stocks. Diesel fuel is the only allowable source for powering these machines. John Deere and IH are the dominant brands, but Massy-Ferguson and Allis Chalmers mix it up as well.

The Super Farm Tractor division is a "hot farm" type of class, utilizing the familiar brands of the Pro Stock category.

The Super Semi division are 20,000-pound, over-the-road, semi trucks that have been modified to create tremendous horsepower with up to four turbochargers on a stock block. All kinds of big truck brands, including Cummins, Detroit Diesel, and V-8 Macks, are utilized.

Mini Rods are known as the "wildest ride on wheels." Weighing less than 2000 lbs. and using a supercharged engine creating 2,000 horsepower, these vehicles definitely live up to their wild, wicked reputation.

Competitors in the Modified division utilize various powerplant arrangements, such as multi-supercharged engines, twin V-12 Allisons, and even jet turbines, developing nearly 6,000 horsepower.

In the Unlimited Modified category, most competitors will have five supercharged engines or multiple jet turbine or Allison aircraft engines developing thousands of horsepower, turning their huge rear tires over 100 miles per hour wheelspeeds or more.

Pulls 'Em In Display

New to the NTPA circuit in 2004 is the "NTPA & Chevy Pulls ‘Em In" program.

Chevrolet, the official truck of the NTPA, has requested information regarding the NTPA fan base, in order to be better able to serve its customers. Fans will be given brief surveys to complete and be entered in a drawing to win one of many prizes, including Chevy/NTPA hats, Chevy Avalanche backpacks, Chevy can cozies and subscriptions to "Puller" magazine. In addition to these prizes, a limited edition Chevy/NTPA poster, Chevy decal, or Chevy patch will be given to each fan for participating. The booth will be adjacent to the Vandermeer Chevrolet display.

On Thursday, June 24 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Dave and Marcia Lamar will be on hand at Vandermeer Chevrolet with their Two Wheel Drive Pulling Truck called "Dirt Track Cadillac." As a prelude to the Wisconsin Dairyland NTPA Super National Truck and Tractor Pull, the natives of Holland, Mich., will be greeting pulling fans at the Chevy dealership.

The 1999 NTPA Grand National Champion will be signing autograph cards as well as displaying the first ever 1:16th toy model of their actual 1930 Chevrolet Two Wheel Drive Pulling Truck that features a 2000 horsepower, supercharged Sassy Racing Engine.

In 2002, Lamar won a record setting fourth Enderle Pull-Off in a row in Fort Recovery, Ohio.

The Lamars hope that 2004 brings them their first ever win in Tomah after several runner-up placings.

"We are looking forward to getting reacquainted with old friends and fans and hope to meet many new faces," said Lamar.

Also at Vandermeers will be the Chevrolet / NTPA "Pulls ‘Em In" Display. Fans stopping by will be given a free, limited-edition, full-color poster featuring pulling greats such as Esdon Lehn, Joe Eder, J.R. Collins, and Rob Foster to name a few. Besides the collectable poster, all fans filling out a questionnaire will be entered to win one of several Chevrolet or NTPA prizes during the day.

The NTPA is the sport's oldest truck and tractor pulling sanctioning organization. Governed by a board of directors, the NTPA is managed by World Pulling International (WPI) an independently owned entity. Headquartered in Worthington, Ohio, the NTPA provides rules and regulations and the infrastructures required for organizations throughout the country to arrange truck and tractor pulls.
